Program Overview

The Sigma Beta Club is the youth affiliate of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., specifically designed to mentor and develop young men into future leaders. Established in 1950, it was the first youth auxiliary group founded by a Greek-letter organization.

Core Programs and Initiatives

The club follows the "Rise and Thunder" curriculum, which focuses on four primary pillars:

Education

Focuses on academic enrichment, tutoring, and college preparation to help "scholars" reach their full potential.

Social Action

Includes the SATAPP (Sigma Against Teenage Pregnancy Plus) program, which teaches responsible fatherhood and healthy lifestyle choices.

Bigger & Better Business

Promotes financial literacy, entrepreneurship, job training, and the importance of early saving and investing.

Health & Wellness

Centers on a Childhood Obesity Initiative that encourages healthy eating and physical activity for the mind, body, and spirit.

Membership and Activities

  • Target Audience: Primarily young men between the ages of 8 and 18.
  • Motto: "Next Generation of Leaders, Accepting the Responsibility and Loving the Challenge!"
  • Mentorship: Members are mentored by alumni and collegiate brothers of Phi Beta Sigma, who undergo rigorous background checks and training.
  • Engagement: Clubs participate in community service (e.g., March of Dimes, neighborhood cleanups), cultural activities (museum visits, plays), and athletics (basketball, bowling).
